Heartbreak for Highcroft.

David Brabham and Scott Sharp suffer disappointment at Road Atlanta with early Petit Le Mans retirement.

The retirement meant Brabham didn't even get chance to compete in the race itself, while the earlier practice problem meant there was no track time at all for the team's third driver Dario Franchitti.

“It was unfortunate that we had to start from the back of the grid but it wasn't a big deal in what should have been a long race,” Brabham reflected. “Scott was making good progress and he got into a good rhythm when he unfortunately hit the wall. We don't know what exactly happened but it meant that I didn't even get in the car and neither did Dario. We now have to concentrate on rebuilding the car so that we can come back strong and win Laguna Seca for the final round.”
