David Brabham seeks a winning end to the ALMS season at Laguna Seca.

After the disappointment of Petit Le Mans, where he failed to even take part at Road Atlanta, David Brabham will look to bring his American Le Mans Series campaign to a winning conclusion at Laguna Seca.

The event will mark the final outing for Brabham in Patron Highcroft Racing's LMP2 Acura, with the team having already announced plans to move up to LMP1 – with Acura – in 2009.

The DNF at Road Atlanta was enough to end Brabham's hopes of securing the LMP2 drivers title alongside team-mate Scott Sharp, with Penske pairing Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas doing enough to put themselves out of reach.

However, second in the standings is secured for the Highcroft pair and Brabham said the focus was firmly on ending the campaign with a fifth win of the year.

“I'm really looking forward to the final race of the season, particularly as I love the Monterey Peninsula,” he said. “The aim at Laguna Seca is simple; we are going all out to win and I will be aiming to clinch pole, race victory and the fastest lap. I like the circuit, although it can be a bit of a challenge with grip especially when your tyres go cold during full course cautions. We were competitive there last year. We suffered a bit at each restart, but we've been working on that and have fixed the problem.

“Thanks to Honda Performance Development and Wirth Engineering in the UK, we've done a lot of work on the simulator ready for this round, so we head to California with a lot of confidence. With the championship battle now behind us, we'll be hoping to sign off this season with another stunning performance to underline our impressive achievements and leave LMP2 on a high.”
