On Saturday 15 July the
BBC will be holding the Sport Relief charity event in a marathon evening of entertainment – and you can do your part at
Snetterton during the latest rounds of the British GT Championship and F3 International Series.
This year Sport Relief is encouraging 16 million people to run one mile to help raise money for good causes and the teams and drivers of the Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship, who are racing at Snetterton on the 15 and 16 July, are going to do their bit on the day.
Circuit owners MotorSport Vision and the drivers from both championships are inviting the public to come along to the Snetterton race track in Norfolk on Saturday 15th July and run a mile alongside racing drivers like Bruno Senna, Mike Conway, James Walker, Oliver Jarvis, Luke Hines, Gavan Kershaw and 2006 Le Mans 24-Hour class winner Tom Kimber-Smith.
Starting at 6pm after a day of track action has finished, the run will take place on the race circuit itself, concluding at the finishing line in front of the pitlane complex in traditional motorsport style.
To encourage the public to participate, a number of prizes will be awarded on the day. The person raising the most money for Sport Relief will receive a VIP day out for two on Sunday 16 July at Snetterton as guests of SRO, organisers of the Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.
The prize includes full hospitality, a chance to meet some of the drivers as they prepare for the two races and a grid walk as the cars line up to race. There are further runners up prizes of Sunday race day tickets and pace car rides courtesy of MotorSport Vision.
