The calendar for the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship has been revealed, with one change being made to the schedule which provided one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory in 2007.

There will be 14 rounds once again during the season, with six events featuring two one-hour long races, and the events at Silverstone and Donington Park once again being contested over two hours.

In the one change from 2007, Knockhill will return for the first time since 2005 and will replace Croft, which only came back onto the calendar this season.

“For British GT we thought Knockhill would set a different challenge to our teams and drivers,” series promoter Stephane Ratel said. “It's a tight and twisty track which we're sure will provide entertaining racing and some surprises.

“Knockhill replaces Croft, but with the remainder of the circuits staying the same, we believe there is an excellent all round balance to the calendar.”

Provisional 2008 British GT Championship calendar:

24 March Oulton Park
4 May Knockhill
26 May Rockingham *
8 June Snetterton
29 June Thruxton
13 July Brands Hatch
17 August Silverstone
5 October Donington Park *

* - to be confirmed
