Bio-ethanol for Aston Martin squad for '08.

Cadena Motorsport has confirmed that it will run its Aston Martin DBRS9 on bio-ethanol during the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

The team, which made its firs appearance with the Aston Martin last season, will follow the lead set by Barwell Motorsport in running the DBRS9 on alternative fuels, with Jonny Cocker and Paul Drayson having won races and battled for the title last year while running bio-fuels.

Barrie Whight and Gavan Kershaw will again share driving duties in the lurid yellow car, and Whight admitted he couldn't wait for the season ahead.

"We're really looking forward to the coming season," he said. "Drayson and Cocker proved that you can be competitive and win races using greener fuel and at the end of the season we contacted Prodrive about converting our Aston to run on Bio-Ethanol.

"We have also found that team partners find bio-ethanol a very attractive idea, particularly as most businesses wish to improve their corporate responsibility. The car is currently undergoing the conversion and we hope to be testing by the end of the month."
