CR Scuderia will have a different look to its line-up for the latest rounds of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship this weekend at
Snetterton after Paddy Shovlin was forced to miss the meeting.
Shovlin and fellow Irish driver Michael Cullen currently lies second in the drivers' standings after winning at
Oulton Park and
Knockhill in the
Ferrari 430, but Shovlin will now miss the Norfolk race meeting.
"I'm expecting another tough weekend as the recent equalisation changes have gone very much in favour of the Vipers and Lamborghinis and I think we will particularly suffer out of the last chicane at Snetterton as we simply don't have the acceleration that they now have," team-mate Cullen said. "Hopefully there will be a rebalance in time for
Thruxton and the remaining rounds of the Championship.
"Paddy won't be with me this weekend as he has business commitments but we'll have a great replacement driver."
That replacement will come in the shape of young Italian driver Marco Mapelli, who will step into GT racing for the first time.
His most recent success came in the Australian F3 Championship last season, where he won at Eastern Creek in only his tenth start and went on to finish fifth in the championship standings.
