"Bradley's sense of humour hasn't been affected and he remains in good spirits. Bradley and his family would like to thank everyone for their support and kind wishes for a swift recovery."

Ellis had been due to continue his programme in the FIA GT3 European Championship, sharing a Matech Ford GT alongside Mortimer, this coming weekend at Oschersleben.

The marshals on the post hit by the car escaped injury.
