Matt Nicoll-Jones and Stewart Linn secured the first ever GT4 title in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship in the latest rounds of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.
The IMS Motorsport pair wrapped up the crown at the Kent circuit in the opening race with a podium finish in third, before celebrating in style with class victory in the second race of the weekend.
The duo went into the weekend knowing that fourth place or better in race one would secure the crown, with nearest rival Fulvio Mussi missing from the weekend as he was instead racing in the SEAT Cupra Championship at
Snetterton.
Third place in race one duly wrapped up the crown before the duo both of whom have won Ginetta titles in the past stormed to victory in race two having been let off the leash' by the team.
Third place never felt so good, Linn said. It brings the championship to us. We knew what we needed to do, everything was focused on this race and we did it!
I wanted to get this race out of the way, I knew we could win it today and the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned, Nicoll-Jones added. We've got a good car underneath us; now we start having a bit of fun! We're going for the team championship now.
