This year has seen a lot of the younger guys coming through, I don’t consider myself old but it is guys like my younger brother Eugene and Jonathan Rea who have really come to the fore. Everyone is looking to them and for me it has been a really frustrating year as I know I am capable of a lot more and it has just not come together. I just have to see what I can do, as I said in my last interview, I’d like to get on a competitive bike next year because I know what I am capable of on the right machine, I could definitely win races.
There is a lot of life left in me yet, it is really getting me down at the minute with the results, it is tough and I suppose people see the team that I am with and they are a big effort who have won the championship before, so they expect you to be performing every weekend. But myself and Michael Rutter are in the same boat and we are both struggling. It is annoying but you have moments like that in your career and you have to dig deep and come through them.
This season has gone so fast it is unbelievable, it only seems like we were turning up at
Brands Hatch a month ago. There are only two races left so it is all winding down very quick. It is going to be interesting with all the moving and changing for next year, all the plans are starting to form and all the rumours are starting. It is going to be an interesting silly season. I hope to pick up a good ride and continue in BSB, I need to give it a good crack!
Catch you later
Michael
