This week I’m going up to Wales to my girlfriend’s place. I think Jodi’s brother Chaz Davies will be home from Qatar so we will get some mini biking in or some mountain biking or road riding in. Something to keep us occupied for a couple of days and then back down to
Thruxton Thursday morning probably, it is going to be a strange weekend with the rest day on Saturday. I’m looking forward to it, I like theses back to back races especially when you have a good first weekend to try and build on it the second weekend so that is the plan. Me and Michael have given the boys a bit of work to repair, we’ve crashed a few bikes, but hopefully we can go from strength to strength.
Michael Rutter my team mate was on Coronation Street along with Team Manager Paul Bird. That shows you where I rank in the team; I didn’t even get an invite! I actually missed them as did everybody else; I think if you blinked you missed them. They won’t be getting signed up for any Hollywood roles anytime soon. It’s all good; it’s good for the camaraderie within the team and that. Michael has gelled with all the mechanics now and he is always taking the hand out of people. He is good to get on with and has a good relationship with everyone already. Having a rider like him in the team takes the pressure off my shoulders. I get on well with him and he has got a lot of knowledge and you can bounce things off him and he won’t lead you up the wrong path. He has helped me through testing; it will be nice to race with him soon.
I’m also looking forward to getting back to Ireland for the North West 200, I think the whole Stobart team is coming; Michael and Ian Lougher are the two riders, I’ll just be supporting in the back ground as I don’t road race. I’ll be over for that and then we have Mondello Park BSB the following weekend so it will be a big week for us as there is quite a bit of pressure with it being our home round. I’m looking forward to it and it will be one of the highlights of the season for me.
Cheers,
Michael
