We’ve just had to move on for coming to Ireland, I know that Mondello being my home circuit I’ll be strong there with my track knowledge and I quite like the place and the home support helps as well. Now the bike is working a bit better round Mallory, I was happy with how things went at the test. I know the top teams weren’t there so we were really comparing ourselves against my team-mate and Johnny Rea who was there. I was second quickest I think after Johnny. I was happy enough and enjoying riding it again so hopefully Mondello could bring us some good results.
Mondello is a very tight and twisty track and I don’t really like the circuit all that much, but I know how to ride the place fast and I’ve got all the support from my family and friends. It is a good weekend for me but not one of the best circuits on the calendar but I know I will be competitive, I know I can make it happen and that keeps my confidence high. Plus you enjoy it more that way don’t you?
It’s nice to be at home in Northern Ireland for a while, I came home after the test at Mallory last Friday, so I’ve been home since the weekend and down here at Portstewart this week just chilling out and having a bit of a bus mans holiday. The whole team is over for the North West 200 so it is good and actually quite funny seeing my bikes sitting there and I’m not racing them.
