Laverty column: Irish weather.

In the latest of his exclusive columns for Crash.net, Stobart Honda’s Michael Laverty tells us about the bad weather that saw his home round cancelled….

I enjoyed being at home in Ireland for the North West 200. It was a brilliant week; they got the weather we wanted for Mondello. Paul Bird said that when I was talking to him on Thursday – there is no chance we are going to get good weather this weekend, it just doesn’t happen two weekends in a row in Ireland, so we were expecting rain. But the North West was fantastic weather and racing. It would have been so nice for Michael Rutter to take a win as Paul Bird has never had a Superbike win at the North West. He came so close on both occasions but Steve Plater just pipped him and fair play to Steve he rode well.

I’ve not been up to much since the North West as I’ve been sick with the flu. I caught a bit of a bug at the North West so I wasn’t able to do much during the week, just took it easy and recovered. I’ve been at home and hopefully this week I’ll be heading back over the water as our place in Wales is pretty much finished so we will be moving in soon.
