There have been rumblings in the press that Paul Bird our team owner isn’t happy with the results this year. I suppose every rider is concerned if the team boss ain’t happy. I get on well with Paul and to be fair he hasn’t given me any grief to my face so what is said in the press I just try and let it run off my back really. That is the way it is I suppose if the guy is putting a lot of money in and he wants results and at the moment they are not there. So you can see his side of it but at the same time I’m giving it one hundred percent and that is all I can do. He understands that the bike isn’t competitive enough to win races so at the end of the day I’m doing the best I can with the bike and hopefully we will get it here but at this stage it is not a front running bike.
We did the two day BSB test at
Croft before Knockhill and it wasn’t so bad we were about half a second off the quickest race tyre time. So not too bad really and then we’ve had the Knockhill and Oulton race weekends so we went back there for a test with Vivaldi. It was rained off for most of the day, we only had about ten of fifteen laps in the damp and the rest of the day it just chucked it down so it was a bit of a waste of time for us really. We could have done with it just to try some new stuff. I’m pretty hopeful for Croft it should be a good one, we shall see what we can do. Just try and get one better than fourths and fifths, be good to get back on the rostrum as I know I am capable, we just need to get everything to fall into place.
I haven’t had much free time lately; I’ve not been home since before
Knockhill. Our place is pretty much finished up in Wales so I’ve been spending a lot of time up there with Jodie and been playing about on the mini bikes, supermotoing, cycling just general things. Keeping fit and having a bit of fun.
