Cadwell has always been a good circuit for me in the past but I haven’t ridden the superbike there. I was injured last year and we missed the test there this week, so it is going to be a bit more of a learning curve for me than most of my rivals. Looking forward to it I hope I can return to my usual form at Cadwell. It is good fun I always enjoy the mountain section and on the superbike it is always a bit exciting. I suppose when you are enjoying being on the bike it helps things come easier. Hopefully I can dial in as I need to start getting some results.
I’m in seventh place in the championship which isn’t too bad and it is all factory machines ahead of me. I’m ok but I want more, I want to get on the rostrum before the end of the season, so I’ll see what I can do really to try and get a good run at Cadwell. I also need to try and get a good job for next year; I want a good ride so like everybody else I’ll be out there giving it my best. I hope people haven’t lost faith in me this year and I hope I can do something to reward a decent ride for next season.
I’ve nothing sorted out for next year at all. I need to speak to Paul Bird as I’m not really sure what his plans are and speak to some other team bosses to see if anyone is interested. It has been a tough year for me but it has been character building and I think I’ve learned a lot from it. I think on the right bike I could win superbike races and that is the aim really to try and get on the right bike for next year, be it with Stobart or with another team. That is what I need to start working on over the next few months. Hopefully it will all come good, we’ve got Cadwell,
Silverstone and Brands to do first but the work is going to start now for 2007.
All the best.
Michael
