Watanabe 'quicker than Kiyo'.

Watanabe 'quicker than Kiyo'.

Watanabe had qualified ninth for the snow-cancelled Brands Hatch round, then lined up eleventh on the grid after a damp qualifying session at Thruxton.

Be serious, this guy is no Kiyo.

Kiyo won the Japanese supersport championship in 2002 and was unsuccessful in MotoGP in 2003, so his pedigree on starting in BSB was lower, however he was much younger than Watanabe so possibly had more potential.

Give the lad a chance, you don't become 2 x Japanese champ without having something. he may end up mid-table or just above this year. Next year will tell us what he's about. He should just concentrate on this year as a learning experience and if he gets a few good results all the better.
