HM Plant Honda rider Leon Haslam has been excluded from the second Bennetts British Superbike Championship race at Oulton Park following his incident with Tom Sykes while dicing for victory.
i feel that the move to hm plant honda from ducati and the possibility that if he was to win bsb this year that it may lead to a competitive wsbk 2009 ride is all a bit to much for him

As soon as he takes to the track you know hes going to knock someone off at wsome stage over the weekend.
IF he was a rookie you'd forgive it, but hes not.
No class what so ever, and as everybody knows its never his fault. And never apologises!

Well, hopefully he'll cool his heels a bit and make sure he's closer next time before he lunges for an overtake. Last time out at Thruxton Karl Harris was barged out of the way going into the chicane by Leon and took them both wide if I remember rightly. This was apart from the incident in race 2 with Tom.
Agreed an apology wouldn't have gone a miss though.
Racing incidents happen in any motorsport! I'm sure we wouldn't watch if everyone was scared of getting too close to each other like F1 is these days! Thats the whole reason why we watch the bikes! Much more overtaking action than cars!

These things happen in racing. Luckily no one was hurt. Did the race officials who let race 1 start in the rain with everyone running slicks apologise? There was at least two riders with theirs hands up at the start if you look at the view from the back of the grid.

Racing incidents happen, we probably all agree. However the racing needs to be hard, but fair. Leon Haslam has enough experience with his privileged racing background. Don't forget Leon over the years that he has raced in 125,250,500GP, WSBK & BSB, that's a great deal of experience, and I'm sure that he is embarrassed at what was a very amateur move at one of the tightest corners at Oulton. The officials made the right decision here and the wrong decision with the race one start. We need to keep BSB clean and exciting so that it continues to be the envy of all domestic Superbike Championships around the globe.

Reading previous comments I think that a lot of people like me are losing some of the affection we feel for Leon?
Look at the luck Karl Harris has had, a mechanical breakdown and taken out and injured in a crash caused by guess who. He doesn't lose the plot and try suicidal manouvres though. No one has a god given right to barge poeple out of the way on corners, Leon needs to look at how JT does it.
I reckon Leon is in a scenario this year where he could become "the Jimmy White" of superbikes and it's clouding his judgement.
He needed this ruling to make him think, the officials can't just keep turning a blind eye.
