JEEESUS - this is terrible.

Top Bloke on the Island BUT CRAP Short track rider.

Done ZERO on the same bike as James Ellison.

ROb Mac Needs his head read - Karl Harris is 100% better at short tracks (ok he bins it a bit but WHEN UP FRONT, not the Back like MArtin will be.

Jeeeesus

What a team thats going to be!! Hopefully some good results for Guy next year, for a change!!

Should've said more about the record breaking SIX wins at the Gold cup - beating all previous records. Not bad for a red wine and Earl Grey drinking tractor driver!!!!

Go big mate, show them you're just as good on short tracks as you are on the roads, and here's to your TT wins next ye****

Yeah, Guy really could do with a change of fortune... hopefully a move to Rob Mac's will bear the right results. Can't wait.

If it means he can cross the finish line at the TT next year that would be a plus!

Best sideburns since Rocket Ron that man...

Jelly - If you bothered to actually check up on the facts on this seasons BSB races you would see how much bloody bad luck Guy has had, one race he was on the warm up lap and felt a vibration, went back to the pits to find out a disc bolt was loose and catching on the caliper, could have had dire consequences if he'd ignored it.
That is one of many problems he alone has encountered, James' bike has been fine !
Yet, he has never slagged the team off, the lad is a credit to a team, Rob's not stupid, he can see Guy is a good racer, him and Harris - fantastic.
He'll be top 6 in BSB and top on roads... 2009 will be his best year yet.

Anyone not already in his fanbase should read the interview in this month's RACER mag.
The guy (no pun intended) is genius!
Also, as an incite into this decision. He had this to say about next year.
"...if I'm with Honda next year, you can write off the 600 races at the TT because
I don't think their 600 is good enough. It's mega for short circuits, it's just that
I know the top speed of the Yamaha and when you come road racing you need the top end speed..."
and now he signs for Yamaha for next year. I for one wish him all the BEST luck next year! "Go on the hairy man!!!"

Jelly - Read the entry on Guy Martin's blog entitled "Cadwell and cornfields", and then come back here and tell us all that he is on the same bike as Ellison. If you are going to spout stuff on here, make sure it is factual.

I could be wrong, but I think Ellison has had a better bike than Guy too. When Ellison couldn't race recently due to his injury, Guy was given his bike, but didn't like it so went back to his original.

Buelliful, Nige et al ... Good to see some fans here who do read stuff, Racer mag interview is excellent and does give an insight into this years issues he has suffered.
His column in PB is worth the price of the mag alone, i hope he does well and for sure get's those TT wins under his belt, a proper good lad.

Such a fun and exciting rider, hope this is the step he needs to get a TT under his belt. And to consolidate himself in BSB as well.

I think the reason Rob Mac signed Martin is because the team is turning its focus to TT now that GSE got Yamahas for BSB

He hasn't been on as reliable a machine as Ellison, that's for sure.

I just hope its not a case of frying pan to fire 'tho, cos whilst a lot of Karl's DNFs on the Rob Mac Yam have had rather a lot to do with Mr Harris lobbing it at the scenery, quite a few have been down to problems with reliability / component failure.

GO BIG GUY!!! Hopefully with some luck and relaibility he'll get the first of many tt wins in 09!
I dont think people realise how differnt Ellison's bike is compared to Guy's, Ellison's bike has all the trick stuff (wheelie control, TC, etc.) whereas Guy's has nothing, he has said so in his own blog
