Ellison: Two chances.

Ellison: Two chances.

This weekend's Brands Hatch Bennetts British Superbike season finale will provide the last opportunity for James Ellison to score a 2008 victory for the Hydrex Bike Animal Honda team.

Good luck to both the Hydrex bikes. Ellison for hm plant next year? You know it makes sense!

I think he's worthy of either ride imho. I think he's a very underated rider who even when racing in GPs never complained about how crap the bike was(even at Yam, it was NOT the same bike as Rossi's), be good to see him get a decent ride

Good luck to Ellison. It will be hard to get a victory this weekend when Haslam, Sykes, Byrne, Crutchlow and Camier all seem to be on form and are riding better bikes.

I would like to see Ellison on a Rizla Suzuki as I think that team would suit him. As long as he gets a GSE Yamaha, HM Plant Honda or Rizla Suzuki I will be happy - he has proved that he deserves top machinery. If he gets the right team he could be a good bet for the championship in 2009.

Ellison couldn't win an egg and spoon race! He's good but he's not good enough...

I dont think he has had time to win Egg and spoon races as he has been too busy getting rides that he hasnt had to pay for the last few years .. Hydrex have never been so successful this year. They certainly werent getting Podiums prior to this season. He was on a Privateer machine in AMA 07and did a lot better than this years rider did . In Moto GP he was racing in a test situation on Dunlop Test tyres. for both 2005 and 2006. Prior to that he won a Championship every year. for five years For No Wages and broke./ Nice to see Hydrex giving him a real Chance on Home soil which he hasnt raced on for many years. when he was last here he won the Privateer cup by 100's of points

I wont even argue with the lame conment posted by yamapimp, Ellison is the only non factory rider to hang with the factory riders this year He has done some great racing this year, looking forward to seeing him on a factory ride next year who ever it might be Im sure he will do well. GO ELLISON, bring one home for Hydrex!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BSB FAN

Couldn't win an egg and spoon race - are you having a giraffe? He's already been BSB Cup champion, World Endurance champion and two times European Superstock Champion!

No, Camier got podiums on a Full HRC Factory Honda in the bike animal team which also ran Johnny Rea the year before on a full factory honda. This team was run by Harvey Beltrans who now runs the HM plant team. This years bike animal team is the hydrex team from last year with bike animal as main sponser. They have nothing like factory honda's, though they have developed a very very quick bike. They dont seem to be that far down on BHP though are seriously lacking hm plant in electronics.

Two hopes an ones Bob.... I'm afrai Haslam has been the class of the championship this second 1/2. He's riding like a champion should unlike shakey who hasn't won in 11 races, hardly the kind of record people in WSBK are gonna quake in their boots about....Still go James Ellison, it's about time you got another kick of the ball..

I dont understand how Bill got agreed with and featherz got diasgreed with.
Camier DID get Podiums on the Bike Animal Honda (most notably his FIRST RACE at Brands Hatch!) and Ellison definitely deserves a decent ride next year!

personally i think Ellison and Camier should be team mates! Dominant season for whichever team gets them!

I'd also like to see Karl Harris have a good season. This season's been a nightmare for the poor bloke, Sykes's bike taking him out and Byrne knocking him off to name but 2 incidents.

Rips - Ellison has signed for which Yamaha team then ?
As Rob Mac has Guy Martin and Karl Harris, is Ellison on the GSE one ?

P.S Yamapimp, you are clueless !

Tim Bo. Am I clueless? You obviously know me very well... He blows hot and cold and is far too inconsistent in my opinion.

Yamapimp .. sorry, bit harsh on you there, however James' team mate this year has also been hot and cold, it may be the team!
In MOTOGP he was on a Yam on Dunlops in the year the Yam was not great and as for the Dunlops .. say no more !!
Last year in AMA he wasn't even on a top Honda in a championship dominated by Yoshi Suzuki
I reckon personally he'd give a good account of himself on a better bike, if he get's the chance let's see then 'eh, you may of course be proven to be spot on.
Now the top 4 or 5 riders in BSB are off elsewhere best chance of any in 2009 that's for sure.

Tim Bo, apology accepted... Guy Martin is a road racer and has never "cut in" on short circuits really. I don't go around slating the British riders I just say it as I see it. 2009 will probably be JE's best chance of winning the BSB but put him in a championship full of quality riders and he will just come up short. Yes, he has had a few good rides but is he a rider of higher quality that could challenge for WSB honours, I don't think so personally.

Aah, now that is a different thing, doing well in BSB next season is a possibility and i feel he may do well, on a decent bike.
BUT, WSB, not so sure myself, of the Brits going there next season i see Shakey, Rea and possibly Sykes doing well, i'm not convinced with Leon still,i don't know why and i'd love to be proven wrong, but i don't think JE would be a front runner in that series either, top 6 to 10 possibly on the right bike.
On another note, how do you take the news that Colin Edwards may be punted over to WSB and Spies come over to MOTOGP ..imo it makes sense as 2 rookies on the new R1 is a big ask ref development and that is one thing Colin is good at !
