Bennetts motorcycle insurance company, are to continue their title sponsorship of the British Superbike Championship, for a third year.
The Bennetts British Superbike Championship has established itself at the highest level within motorsport, attracting record crowds through the turnstiles at the circuits and also attracting the biggest adult average viewership, with the exception of the
FIA F1 Grand Prix, of any motor sport shown ‘live' across the ITV1 terrestrial network.
The contract for the 2007 season provides for the biggest sponsorship deal in domestic motorcycle racing, and has been negotiated by the commercial rights holders of the British Superbike Championship, Dorna UK.
“I'm delighted that Bennetts have continued with us,” said Tony Partis, the Managing Director of Dorna UK. “We have, over the previous two years, forged an excellent working relationship which has enabled us to take our sport to the next level. We have a product to be proud of, with top line teams and riders producing the closely fought action that is a certain crowd pleaser, and to have a company with the reputation of Bennetts working with us can only enhance this.”
The Bennetts British Superbike Championship title last year was decided at the final round at
Brands Hatch as Ryuichi Kiyonari took the glory for Honda, ahead of the Airwaves Ducati riders Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla. They are all back for more, with the race organisers expecting 28 bikes to line up on the starting grid for the opening race at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday, 9 April, which, along with all 13 rounds will again be shown ‘live' by ITV1.
