Pete Jennings of Rizla Suzuki took on something of a role reversal this weekend at Snetterton, instead of maintaining a race machine for someone else to ride he was actually the person doing the racing.

He competed in both legs of the New Era Moto Sixty races and won both, he also raced in the Suzuki GSX-R Trophy, where he finished in third place.

The first race almost ended in tears when he ran out of fuel whilst leading, “We had a small drama at the end. I was starting to run out of fuel and I thought I'll never get another lap in so I came into pitlane. We did a quick splash and dash and I finished the race exiting pit lane - I won! I did another lap after that as I didn't actually see the chequered flag so I ended up being classified a lap in front of everybody else. It was a good race I enjoyed it,” grinned Jennings.

The Suzuki GSX-R Trophy saw Jennings with a battle on his hands as he started out in fourth place and worked hard to pull off a podium finish. “Lee Hodge and Jay Dunn were riding well, I was hoping to battle with them and hang on their tail really but I couldn't hang on. I enjoyed it; the GSX-R 600 is a nice bike to ride. The idea of the one make class is to bring on novice riders, I think it is a good thing,” he said.

The final race of the day saw another win come his way, “We had no dramas this time! I had a good dice at the start and was up to second place. Then Jamie Wheatley came by and took second from me. That didn't last as he had a massive high side which brought the safety car out for a few laps. I squeezed into the lead and held it.”

Jennings had been in touch with Crutchlow to tell him about his first win but still had the news of the third place to break to him, “I think he might be a bit disappointed with third today, think he might tell me off!” he joked.

He will return to his usual role of chief technican when BSB returns at Donington Park on the 21st - 23rd September.
