Haslam and Lavilla are in third and fourth places respectively in the championship standings. It is the second time the Bennetts British Superbike Paddock have visited
Brands Hatch this season; the championship campaign kicked off there in April when Lavilla took two race wins on the longer GP track.
Having racked up 22 podium finishes, 9 race wins and 17 front row starts this year, the team are confident that they can end the season on a high this weekend.
Haslam is lying 4 points behind Jonathan Rea and a further 37 points behind championship leader Ryuichi Kiyonari. He knows he still has a chance to clinch the title with 50 points up for grabs this weekend. Off the back of his career first double win at Donington Park last time out he is feeling confident.
“I'm really looking forward to this last round especially after my double at
Donington. There's still an outside chance of winning the championship and a possibility of taking second place so I will be aiming for another double win as anything could happen!,” said an eager Haslam.
He is hoping to maintain his winning ways as he went on to say, “Brands Hatch is a great track to race at and there will be a great atmosphere for the last race of the season; I just want to get there and get started and hopefully continue this winning streak!” he finished.
Lavilla is confident for the last race of the year and wants to end his season with a good performance. “I enjoy racing at Brands Hatch; I prefer competing on the longer track than the shorter one but I am still confident that I can end the season well. I started this year by winning there in the first round but we have had a difficult time since then, now I want to end the season as we began,” he said.
Although he will be glad to get the season over he is also a little sad to see it end, “The last race of the year is always exciting but it is also a little sad as you know that when it's over it will be a long time before you will race and see the team again; I will be aiming for a win for me and for the Airwaves Ducati team,” he concluded.
