Embassy Racing was able to celebrate a successful first season of two-wheeled competition after Glen Richards successfully wrapped up the 2007 British National Superstock Championship title.

The sportscar team elected to move into motorbike racing at the start of the year, with the Embassy Racing Moto team only coming into existence three weeks before the opening round of the year at Brands Hatch back in April.

Having made the decision to run the Moto squad alongside its new LMP2 programme in the Le Mans Series, the team was assembled, the chosen Yamaha R1s prepared and the organisation put in place for the first round at Brands Hatch in April – with former BSB rider Glen Richards taking a double win.

Further success followed before some minor problems during the middle of the season which allowed the chasing pack to close in – but a run of podium finishes towards the conclusion of the campaign allowed Richards to clinch the title with one race to spare.

"I am absolutely delighted that we have secured the championship and even more proud of the way that we have gone about it," team principal Jonathan France said. "There is no question that I am in motorsport to win and to see my approach, philosophy and work ethic adopted by the team members, both LMS and Moto, and succeed, gives me a real thrill.

"It has been a very exciting and worthwhile project in its own right, but the pleasure and positive boost the Moto results have been bringing to the team as a whole have been invaluable.

"It is a wonderful achievement and something I think Embassy will be looking to build on."
