Having completed a successful season in British Supersport and on the pure roads with the Bike Animal and HM Plant Honda teams, Hutchinson was gearing up to ride the green Stobart machine, when the crash happened. We were having a bit of a shake down at Darley Moor and I think it was just a little bit cold. I high sided at the chicane and I've broken my collar bone about as badly as it is possible to do, he explained.
The broken collar bone has been plated and Hutchinson is now in a race to get fit in time to take to the Guia street circuit in Macau, for the 41st Edition of the Motorcycle GP. The race takes place on 17th November giving him just three weeks to recover. It should be ok for Macau, it is just the operation that is hurting now, he said.
He will be team-mate to 13 times TT winner, John McGuinness. Last time out Hutchinson picked up third place behind race winner Steve Plater on the AIM Yamaha, and Michael Rutter who finished second on the Stobart Honda, while McGuinness raced to sixth place.
At the moment it is unclear where Hutchinson will go next year as he is thought to have refused a contract with Honda to ride in British Supersport. Apparently the contract didn't include the international road races where Hutchinson has made his name in racing. He has been linked to AIM Yamaha; however that has yet to be confirmed.
I have a few options, he said, I just need to decide which is my best option for the circuits and the roads; I want to be with the one team for both.
