James Webb will be the man to step up to the challenge as the sole UK1 rider in the British Supersport Championship. The team will also run Taylor Mackenzie in the British GP125 Championship.

When asked about the move to Supersport James Webb said: “I couldn't be happier. The team plan has always been to move into Supersport in 2009 but to get the opportunity next season is fantastic.”

The move to Supersport has been made possible by the departure of long time rider Kev Coghlan. The young Scot has been offered the opportunity to race in the Spanish Championship and UK1 have released him so that he can accept the offer.

Team Principal Kevin Newton said: “Obviously we'll miss Kev, but he's been given a great opportunity and we wish him well. UK1's philosophy is to help young riders progress so Kev's move to Spain together with Deane Brown's appointment to the Red Bull Rookies is ‘Mission accomplished' really.”
