Rizla Suzuki rider Tom Sykes is to attend the National Bike Show at Manchester Central on Saturday [5 January].
The 22-year old Sykes put in some impressive times during the Rizla Suzuki test held at Calafat in Spain during the early part of December but, despite being busy preparing for the new BSB season, said he was happy to make time to meet his fans.
“I've only been to the National Bike Show once before and that was years ago,” he said. “I was a bike mad little lad and my Grandad took me along. It is a good show to go to as it has a very relaxed atmosphere.
“I've not done many shows but I'll have to say I really enjoyed the NEC show as it gave me a chance to talk to people. I prefer to talk to folk rather than just sit there signing posters. On race weekends it is difficult to find the time and you aren't necessarily in the right frame of mind for chatting to fans. You only get pit lane walkabout and that is mainly spent signing.
“The shows are more relaxed and I enjoy that aspect of it.”
