After completing plenty of pre season testing on their R1 Yamaha. Jentin, the team that won the Privateers Cup with James Ellison aboard its bike in 2004 hit the ground running at Brands.

From the first session to qualifying the immaculately turned out Yamaha was in amongst the works bikes of Honda, Ducati and Suzuki, and often only tenths away from the times set by Karl Harris on the Rob McElnea Yamaha.

Andrews, a former Supersport class front runner, was a little unhappy initially with the setup of the bike on Friday, but through the day and into Saturday improvements were made.

The official qualifying session was interrupted be weather and Andrews finished up seventh just over a second behind the best time set by Shane Byrne on the Airwaves Ducati.

Like all the other riders and teams, Andrews was disappointed with the weather situation on Sunday, but also fully aware that rider safety was of paramount concern to to organisers.

“The team has produced a fast bike for 2008," he said. "We need to address a couple of minor issues and then I don't see any reason why we can't be up at the front regularly.

"The weather was always going to be an issue this weekend and I feel sorry for the fans that travelled to Brands to watch, but rider safety is paramount in everyone's agenda”
