"We're very well off meeting Leon as a rider and, as a team, we're going to be doing a lot of learning this year," he said. "Our expectations are hopefully measured, but it will be a learning year. We will be at the back of the grid but we know what we want to do, and what we want to get out this year.

"We have plans for next season and that is to win the Superbike Cup, so we're here for the long term. We want to be successful really and take race wins. We did really well last weekend at Knockhill with the GTs with a second place, so that's on the up, and with the bikes, this is our learning year and we'll be looking for podiums next season."

Young-gun Morris, who was this week selected for the Airwaves Superbike Scholarship and will be mentored by Airwaves Ducati team manager Colin Wright during the season ahead, will be making his debut on the Superbike this weekend and he admitted that it was a somewhat pleasant surprise to get the chance to move into the BSB itself - with the initial plan having been for him to race in Superstock this year.

"I guess we'll find out how much of a shock it's been at Thruxton this weekend!" he said when asked how much of a shock the new he will move into BSB was. "No-one is naive enough to think this isn't a huge step up. It's all happened very quickly and all been turned round in no time at all.

"I guess for the team and for me, it's made me more hungry. I've been put in with the best of the best and it's up to me to up my game and try and give something back to the people that have put their faith in me to do this."

Like team boss Braybrook, Morris admitted that he views 2008 as a season to learn about the series, with his long-term focus being on title success in 2009.

"The British Superbike Championship is the fastest domestic racing championship in the world and we're up against the best of the best including a lot of factory teams," he said. "My expectations for 2008, and I've been very honest about this with the team too, is that I see this year very much as a learning year.
