This is the controversial moment when Leon Haslam collided with Tom Sykes while trying to pass the Rizla Suzuki rider for the lead during race two at Oulton Park on Monday.

Sykes had dominated the race up to that point, but came under increasing pressure from Haslam and his HM Plant Honda team-mate Cal Crutchlow.

Haslam dived for the inside at the Hislop chicane on lap 10 of 18, but was carrying too much speed and bumped Sykes from his blue machine at the apex of the turn.

Sykes, who fell at Thruxton after contact with Haslam, was out on the spot - and made his displeasure clear - while Haslam kept his Fireblade on two wheels and rejoined the race in fifth after running across the grass.

Haslam was credited with fourth position when the race was stopped five laps early, to allow Crutchlow to receive medical treatment for an injured ankle, but was later disqualified for the incident with Sykes.

Leon had finished a close second in the wet opening race, when Sykes had crossed the line fifth after leading in the early stages. Both races were won by Airwaves Ducati rider Shane Byrne.
