"While there is a serious angle for the world championship, we will also be going for the win" - Simon Buckmaster.

Craig Jones will take on fellow Brit Jonathan Rea and former world champion Andrew Pitt in the forthcoming Donington Park round of the British Supersport Championship, following confirmation that Parkalgar Honda will also enter the event.

Like Ten Kate Honda, the Parkalgar squad is taking advantage of a break in the WSS calendar - the forthcoming Utah round is for WSBK only - and aims to use the Donington Park BSS event to prepare for the world championship round on September 7.

Jones is currently the leading Brit in the hotly contested world championship - holding sixth in the standings with two third positions from the five races so far held - and is eager to return to the track where he has tasted British Supersport victory in 2004, when he was a full time British championship rider.

"It will be a relaxing and enjoyable meeting for me at Donington Park," explained Craig, who finished second in the 2005 BSS Championship. "The whole idea is to give Parkalgar Honda a race-test in advance of the World Championship round at the same circuit later in the year.

"Saying that, getting back to the British paddock and on a track I love, I am sure I'll be giving it my all. That goes double now we know that Andrew Pitt and Johnny Rea will be wildcarding at the same event - I suspect it will be world championship pace from start to finish.”

Despite breaking his left hand in a crash at Monza last weekend, Jones is confident he will be back close to full fitness at Donington Park.

"My hand was broken but I was able to race last weekend and still finish sixth. I have been resting and healing since then and don't expect it to pose any problems at Donington Park," he declared. "In truth, I am really looking forward to racing in front of the British fans again; this is a real bonus for me and the whole team."
