Steve Plater has become the fifth different winner in five races in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship race at
Snetterton.
In another typically close race, Plater edged Glen Richards on his AIM Racing Yamaha by a mere 0.192secs, while James Westmorland was less than half a second further back in third place.
Speaking after race, Plater was delighted the race, which was cut short to 13 laps when a red flag came following a oil spillage and crash at the final corner.
"I had a cracking start in that race; I didn't know how it would go as I haven't raced on the bike before. I followed Glen for a while and didn't panic, just followed him round before making my move.
“We both wanted to lead because we could see the black clouds moving in. It was just lucky it was me leading when the race was stopped."
Plater had been dicing throughout the race with championship leader Glen Richards but when the race was red flagged it was Plater that was leading and therefore rewarded with the victory.
James Westmoreland, meanwhile, took his maiden podium finish in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship on the Centurion Racing Honda to make it three different makes of bikes in the top three.
"There are no words to describe what I am feeling, I am just delighted. I didn't realise the result was declared until I came in, but I wanted this result so much. I need to thank the team for their support and all their hard work."
