James Haydon is excited about the prospect of going racing again as he joins the MSS Discovery Kawasaki team for this weekend's Bennetts British Superbike round at
Mallory Park.
Haydon, who has competed for Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki in recent years, occupies the saddle of Stuart Easton, who was ruled out of competition following an accident at
Snetterton in which he broke his wrist.
Most recently competing for Hawk Kawasaki, Haydon was pleased to be getting a call-up from MSS Discovery and is hoping he can hit the ground running with a brace of good results at Mallory.
"I had a quick shakedown at Mallory and then another session at
Brands Hatch recently just to get dialled in and to meet the team,” said Haydon, who even tried his hand at being a TV pundit before returning to racing.
“The bikes are immaculate and I am motivated to repay the faith that the guys have placed in me. I'll do my best to keep the seat of Stuart's Ninja ZX-10R warm, ready for him to return to the team as soon as he is fit again."
