Karl Harris is determined to put his patchy start to the Bennetts British Superbike season behind him with a good performance at
Mallory Park this weekend.
Still reeling somewhat from the fall he suffered in the wet at
Snetterton, Harris was nonetheless performing well around the Leicstershire circuit, proving amongst the leading riders before suffering a clutch problem.
Failing to set a time in the second practice session when rain came to prevent most riders from even venturing onto the circuit, Harris was nonetheless pleased with his start to the weekend and is hoping it can only get better.
“Hopefully we can get a good result here this weekend with podiums and maybe even a win,” he told
Crash.net Radio. “The season has been a bit up and down, through no fault of our own, but hopefully we can sort that and have a good round.
“I wasn't too happy with the first bike, so we changed to the number two bike and we were fast straight away. However, we ended up having a clutch problem, but it will be fixed for the weekend and I am happy for us just to work on race set-up, rather than quick times.
When asked about whether he has a different opinion of the rain when he fell at Snetterton, Harris admits he is just as happy for it to be wet or dry this weekend…
"I could do with a bit of practice in the wet after Snetterton,” he joked. “I'm not fussed about whether it is wet or dry. I like the wet so what will be will be.”
