Tom Sykes snatches pole position from Michael Laverty in the final ten second at Mallory Park.

Chief amongst those was John Laverty, who spent most of the session tussling for a spot on the second row aboard his NorthWest 200 Ducati. Indeed, the Daily Star Cup leader even looked like he would embarrass his team-mate Michael Rutter, only for the local rider to pop up into sixth place in the latter stages. Laverty, instead, will lead the third row in ninth.

Karl Harris was another to improve late on in seventh, while Tristan Palmer continued his solid weekend on the Tena for Men Honda in eighth. Billy McConnell rounded out the top ten on the best of the Kawsaki's.

Elsewhere, series returnees James Haydon and Sean Emmett will start 17th and 20th respectively.
