Glen Richards has taken pole position for the latest round of the British Supersport Championship at
Mallory Park following an interrupted qualifying session.
With the session being stopped after Chris Martin's Gearlink Kawasaki suffered a technical problem and dumped oil over the circuit, Embassy Racing's Richards was able to consolidate the provisional pole position he held from the first qualifying session.
He will start alongside Ian Hutchinson, who leapt up from seventh place for AIM Racing Yamaha, while Ian Lowry made it a great day for Relentless Suzuki by placing himself on the front row too.
Although lumbered with his time from the first session, Martin held on for fourth and with James Westmoreland in fifth, it ensured that five different makes of bike would fill the top five positions.
Snetterton race winner Steve Plater will start sixth, ahead of Hudson Kennaugh, who was one of a handful or riders who failed to improve on his earlier lap. However, with rival Steve Brogan starting tenth, he will look to take second place in the standings this weekend. Steven Neate and Paul Young filled the positions between them on the grid.
