It's advantage Tom Sykes heading into the two races at Mallory Park after topping warming up.

Pole sitter Tom Sykes maintained his place at the top of the Mallory Park reckoning in warm-up for the latest round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

The Suzuki rider, who will start from his first pole position of the season later today, was in fine form around the compact Leicestershire circuit, emerging almost two tenths faster than anyone else.

His closest rival was Leon Camier, the Snetterton winner seemingly finding some much needed answers after struggling for grip during qualifying. He will start 11th on the grid.

Cal Crutchlow was third fastest on the HM Plant Honda, ahead of qualifying standout Michael Laverty, the Relentless Suzuki rider maintaining his impressive form through to Sunday.

Shane Byrne was a low profile fifth fastest, ahead of Leon Haslam and Karl Harris, while Michael Rutter and Billy McConnell rounded out the top ten positions.
