“We had a problem with our number one bike in the morning which forced us to switch to the number two bike and start from the back row. I pushed hard in the first half of the race but I got stuck behind John Laverty and I started losing time and messing around with the traction.

“I turned the traction off in the end and you get so used to riding round here with it on, the bike just bit me. It landed on my hand, but it's not broken, just damaged.”
