Michael Rutter is hoping victory at
Mallory Park will kick start a strong run of form for the remainder of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
The North West Ducati 200 rider scored a marvellous victory in tricky conditions last time out at the Leicestershire circuit, his first for more than three years.
However, the only downside to the victory is that he and the team are now expecting it on a regular basis, even if Rutter admits that it may take similarly changeable weather conditions to squeeze the best from his Ducati 1098
“The team are expecting wins now,” he told
Crash.net Radio. “They'll be kicking if we don't get up there. In those kind of conditions we have a real chance, but in the dry we are struggling a bit. It will get better though, so it is just step by step.”
Looking ahead to the next round at
Oulton Park, Rutter is hoping some additional assiatnce from the Ducati factory will give them the boost they need to sustain a consistent race win challenge.
“We had a really good start and we had a win at the last meeting, so hopefully we can keep it going but it is so competitive out there.
"We haven't got the electronics quite right on the bike yet, but we are getting better all the time. At Oulton we have had a bit of help from the factory team for the first time, so hopefully we can go quicker.”
