Michael Rutter just misses the podium at Silverstone, but he isn't happy with his pace.

Michael Rutter admits he was ‘disappointed' with his performance in the latest Bennetts British Superbike round at Silverstone, despite coming away with fourth and seventh place finishes.

Rutter used his experience to guide his North West Ducati around the carnage to a strong fourth place in the first race, but was frustrated to finish almost twenty seconds behind the leaders.

Blaming his lack of ultimate pace on a problem with the tyres, Rutter was particularly bothered given he had qualified as the top Ducati, only to finish well behind both of the Airwaves machines.

“I am a bit disappointed,” he admitted to Crash.net. “We wanted to get up on the podium, but we couldn't do it. We kept on wrecking the front tyres, they looked like they'd done about 900 laps, so we really need to try and cure that problem.

Maintaining sixth place in the BSB standings, Rutter is now hoping for a better result at the Brands Hatch season finale.

“There is only one race left this season, so we will wait and see. I am frustrated with today though, because I think we could have been further up there.”
