Leon Haslam has signalled his determination to leave HM Plant Honda and the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on a high at the
Brands Hatch season climax.
Form has certainly been on Haslam's side in recent races having won five of the last seven races, performances that have hoisted him up to second place in the standings heading to the popular Kent circuit.
As such, Haslam's first priority is to cement the runners-up spot over arch-rival and
Silverstone sparring partner Tom Sykes, although he is also desperate to win on his final outing with the team.
However, while Haslam is dreaming of his World Superbike switch with Stiggy Honda in 2009, he won't be alone in trying to end the season in the best way possible, with Sykes, Shane Byrne and Cal Crutchlow all after victory as they head in a similar direction next season.
“I've won five out of the last seven races and now I want to make it seven out of nine. I want to the leave the team and the Bennetts British Superbike series on a high and that's the aim.
“Obviously everyone is out there is going for it, Cal's got a point to prove coming into the last round, Tom Sykes is strong and Shakey hasn't won a race in 12 outings, so the competition is going to be red-hot.
“I think the Indy circuit is a bit here and there to be honest, there's also not many places to overtake, but 30 laps around such a short circuit makes for a pretty busy race, so it should be fun.”
