Glen Richards admits he could be on the way to the British Superbike Championship in 2009.

New British Supersport Champion Glen Richards has revealed that he is likely to be heading to the Superbike Championship in 2009 following the withdrawal of Embassy Racing.

Richards, who scooped the BSS title two weeks ago at Silverstone, was originally set to continue with Jonathan France's team in next season, but with Embassy forced to disband as a result of financial woes, Richards has had to look elsewhere.

Nonetheless, the experienced Aussie racer's dominance in Supersport this season is thought to have grabbed the attention of several high profile teams, with paddock rumours linking him to multiple champions HM Plant Honda.

Although Richards himself didn't disclose who will be riding with in 2009, he did admit that he should be ‘Superbike bound' next year.

“It is unfortunate that this is the end of the era with the team but we have certainly gone out in style. All the team have worked for free this weekend to make it possible to be here so I need to thank them as they made today possible. It looks like I will be Superbike bound next season so it is good to end the season on a high."
