I did a British GT race last year in a GT2 Porsche, and while it wasn’t the latest spec, we came away with a second place and upset the Panoz boys as we split them and the
Ferrari. Last year it was just those two cars out on their own in the GT2 class, whereas this year it is a more even keel and there is a good handful of cars that can do the job in the GT3 class – which is now the top class in the series. Thruxton and then before
Croft, then you can only imagine what will happen and they could become a force to be reckoned with in the second half of the season. We know how dominant they can be, what a good team they are and what a good car they can build – and we know they have good drivers. If they continue as they are doing, they could dominate the second half of the season. To see Colin and Tom improve and get a first win with the
BMW is good for Team RAC and you are now seeing people starting to learn more about their cars – with the expected results. So SEAT and Vauxhall need to watch out...
