For my return to the series, I hope I can impress at Oulton. As I said, when I went to Brands it exceeded my expectations and we only got a glimpse of that at Rockingham in that first practice session. What I have to bear in mind now though, is that the other people on the grid have had nine starts more than me and more practice sessions – so they have had more track time and development time with their cars. Despite that, we know the speed is in me and in the car and I have a great team who know what they are doing and can do the job. So I don’t see why we can’t get some points off these guys.
I’d have thought people would have gained a lot more points on me than they have while I’ve been away and I think the Motorbase guys have only got the same number of [overall] points as me - so I’m a bit surprised with my position in the championship considering I’ve only done one meeting. If we can get more points to move back up the Indy standings then it would be great and that is our priority. We know we won’t win it because of the events we have missed but we can just do the best we can and aim for the highest placing possible.
On track, I’d be happy with a win, I’d be happy with second – I’d be happy with us making steady progress. If we can get a podium in the next few races then it will be remarkable for us but it is damn hard in this championship and it will need bloody hard work for us to be right at the front.
I've got a new sponsor from this weekend in the shape of the Lister's Group who are the main agents for SEAT in my home aread and it would be good if we can get a good result for them first time out. If we can get in the top six like we did at Brands, then we can work on it and try and improve.
Until next time,
Adam
