It is hard to set goals without knowing where I’ll be racing, but at the start of the year it is always a realistic goal to say you want to fight for the championship. As a driver, you aren’t going out there to finish second and every driver wants to lift the title. I think it is possible next year but once the season is underway, it might be a case of looking at things again and reassessing the goals. But as a general goal, I’d love to break into the top three.
Even though it’s now been a while since the season finished at
Thruxton, there hasn’t been much time off for me. I thought that once racing had finished, it would all calm down and be quiet, I’d get my weekends back and be able to just chill out. But it has been anything but and has probably been even busier! There has been all of the awards ceremonies to go to and various karting events but I have had a good time doing it. It is nice as the pressure is off and you can see everyone else in that kind of environment as well, away from the pressures of a proper race weekend.
Also my season ended quite well at Wembley with victory in the BP Karting event with
Team Crash. They were the best team I think and it’s got to be one of the highlights of my year that I forgot to mention earlier on! Taking that trophy home from Wembley was pretty good!
Until next time,
Tom
