We are just waiting for the final funding to fall into place for the Honda, he said. We hope to have it out in time for
Donington Park, but if not then it should be ready for
Thruxton. With the MG, we are just lacking a little bit of straight-line speed.
However, the MG might still make another appearance in future, with a drive in the car having been previously advertised by Hughes.
There have been four or five people interested, he said. We'll see what happens.
Sunday am Head scratching at BTC
The BTC Racing Lexus has had its fair share of problems and Rockingham proved to be no exception with Chris Stockton forced out of race day.
A bolt in the crankshaft wheel came off for reasons currently unknown and the team was forced to withdraw the car.
Team-mate Stuart Oliver has his car looked over, but was cleared to take part in the three races.
Sunday am AFM continue looking forward
AFM Racing has yet to appear in the BTCC with its
BMW 1 Series this season and wasn't on the entry list released at the media day here at Rockingham last month but work is still ongoing with the focus of getting out on track later this season.
Nick Leason, who is due to join up with Rick Kerry this season, was amongst the spectators in the paddock on Sunday morning.
We are hoping to be out for around June time, he said, about the middle of the season. There has been a lot going on with the car and we plan to try and get ourselves out doing some testing in the coming months. There are a few circuits we want to go and do some running at, probably places like
Snetterton,
Silverstone and
Brands Hatch.
Sunday am Congratulations
Lucky people who manage to secure hospitality with a touring car team on a BTCC race weekend get the chance to get up close and personal to the cars when they go on a tour of the garages to have a look around.
