To be honest with you, I didn’t expect to get one Independent win, never mind two. In fact I thought we might only get one all year if we were lucky. At Donington though, I feel we secured both wins on merit. We were quick in the dry and in the wet amongst the Independents and I had to fight for the wins – they weren’t easy, especially in the first race. I enjoyed it hugely but getting results like that and racing like we did will help to build the respect of others.
I am still only 18, but we proved that we are quick and that we can race and I’m now looking forward to
Thruxton as its one of my favourite circuits and is one where the Integra has always gone well in the past.
Ahead of
Donington, the first 'behind the scenes' television show aired on
Sky Sports and we were chuffed to bits with it - although we were slightly nervous because we hadn’t seen it before it aired! It was great for John Guest and the remainder of our sponsors and will have given them good coverage, and it also gives fans an insight into how a privateer team works.
The show came out well and the Rockingham one is meant to be quite good despite the problems we had there. Hopefully after Donington, that’s a show that will be quite impressive too...
Until next time,
Andy
