I’ve sold one or two so far, I have one that says ‘Good luck from Terry and Sarah’ and it’s nice for people to get some kind of involvement. There is one guy who has a wife who is touring car nuts and she has her name on the car now and is absolutely made up with it and have another that is a birthday present for someone. People can have an involvement and we are a friendly little team for them to meet up with.
Anyway, back to the racing and hopefully my gearbox issues are now in the past. I have to say that Schnitzer are unbelievable, they really are, and have built us a beefier gearbox for the car. My sponsor from Quayside Distribution came down and banged on the desk and said ‘Why don’t we have this and why don’t we have that – lets get it sorted out’ and he is right. We can’t attract fans and sponsors if we aren’t finishing races so we need to start finishing them and make sure we are finishing them sensibly with points and then build on it.
Obviously we have something to build on now after
Brands Hatch and Schnitzer are helping us to build on it by putting the bits together and
BMW are starting to help in a big way and we are flattered. I love the BMW marque and I want it to be in the BTCC this year and next year, especially when the rule changes come in and the series goes Super 2000, and I don’t want them to look foolish - and they won’t because we will give a good account of ourselves once we find our feet which is what we said all along.
