It will be so useful to be able to do that as we have the data and would be able to change things to try and improve the car – and we kept making changes during the weekend that saw us bring our laptimes down. We got down into the 1min 31secs which is good as we were within two seconds of the fastest Independent lap-time and, while that might be a country mile after 15 laps of racing, it isn’t in the grand scale of things when you look over the first rounds of the year.
I think this is the place where our season starts – as long as these good people from Grimsby keep sponsoring me then we will make massive steps! We are a small team at the other end of the grid from the big boys but we will come good.
Hopefully things will go well again at Thruxton – and it’s a good circuit as there is plenty of time to have a rest on the long straights for us under-fit lads! I’m looking forward to the next four rounds really at
Thruxton,
Croft,
Donington and
Snetterton as they are all good for the
BMW and I don’t see why we can’t be pushing towards the top ten. With a bit of luck anyone can get there and if we can get among the big guys then it would be great but as long as we can look at the lap-times and say ‘He’s not making a clown of himself’ then we’ll be happy. It’s a difficult car to get dialled in but once it’s dialled in then I’ll be away.
All in all it was a good weekend at Oulton –now I can just look forward to the next one!
Until then
