As one
BMW elects to miss the latest round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Croft, another is set to return with Jim Pocklington rejoining the series having missed the last round at
Thruxton.
Pocklington endured a baptism of fire at
Brands Hatch and Rockingham with his J Team Motorsport BMW 320i – the car returning to the BTCC for the first time since 2004 when it was briefly entered by Edenbridge Racing for Justin Keen.
Having suffered from a number of problems during the first two rounds – which included a drive train vibration and an issue with the brakes – the team took the decision to miss the third round of the season to work on ironing our some of the problems with a view on returning to action at
Croft.
Now, despite admitting that there was still work to do, Pocklington said the team was aiming to be out on track for the fourth round of the year – leaving just Rick Kerry and Adam Jones as the only drivers not in action.
“I'm fully intending on being at Croft,” he told
Crash.net when asked if he would be making the trip to the North East. “We're quite a way through the problems with the car - although we still have a way to go - but yes we will be there!”
