Team RAC rookie thrilled to secure break-through victory.

Onslow-Cole was also praised by team boss Dick Bennetts, who had predicted in the week running up to the race meeting that a first win wasn't too far away.

"I'm very pleased for Tom," he said. "I did something for the BTCC website earlier in the week and predicted that his first win wasn't far away. After qualifying 1-2 we knew we were competitive and I'm very pleased for Tom. It was very impressive to do what he did and he did a good job to hold on and not make mistakes with someone like Jason behind him. I'm very, very proud of him and he did a great job."
