"I made my mind up that I was going to go for it at the start of race one and I have to say I got it right," he reflected. "If I'd been braver I could have got into the top ten but I had a car that wasn't as quick as them in qualifying and I didn't realise how quick it would be in the race so I held back a little. It got a bit messy as the race went on, a few people got through and then I got a punt from Marsh and I dropped down to 15th, although I'd have had the place back with another lap of the race as I was closing him down again.
"In race two Erkut blamed me and I blamed him for the incident but I think it was 50/50. He gave me a few taps and broke the exhaust then he came up the inside of me and tried to run me wide, I held my line and he got tipped off. I saw him on the side of the circuit the next lap with his arms wide open as I went past and I thought he wanted a cuddle! I went to see him afterwards and said I was sorry if he felt I was at fault even though I didn't feel I was.
"In race three I got baulked at the start but I made up some places round the back but coming out of Russell I couldn't get second gear so the car wasn't pulling as well as it should have done – and it happened maybe six times in the 18 laps. It made it difficult to keep with the pack so I settled for a finish as there was quite a lot of debris on track.
"I think it's been a good weekend all things considered. After Saturday, a twelfth, a 15th and a 16th is a solid result for us and we have a learnt a lot again with the car. I've always said I don't like
Brands Hatch, but after a good showing there earlier in the year I'm looking forward to the next round and am hoping to do well."
